Air Force Detachment 2, 336th Training Squadron
Fort Meade, Maryland
A Welcome Letter from the Commander
Dear Students,
Welcome to Air Force Detachment 2, 336th Training Squadron Fort Meade, Maryland. I would like to congratulate you on your selection to attend DINFOS. The US Air Force Detachment is the home to all Non Prior Servce Airman, Prior-Service Airman, Officers and Civilians attending courses at the Defense Information School (DINFOS). Because DINFOS is a Department of Defense (DoD) asset, it is Detachment 2 responsibility to ensure that Air Force standards are met during your training at Fort Meade. For Non-Prior Students, the detachment will administer all Physical Training Assessments, conduct random Alcohol and Drug testing and respond to all students administrative needs. Prior Service students must ensure they arrive with a current Physical Training Assessment that will remain current throughout the course.
Detachment 2 is a geographically separated unit of the 336 th Training Squadron located at Keeser Air Force Base, Mississippi. Therefore, all Air Force students attending DINFOS are subject to the policies and procedures of Air Education and Training Command (AETC). Detachment 2 is located in building 6401, which includes the Commander's Support Staff, permanent party staff offices, and the living quarters for approximately 100 non-prior service (NPS) students. The NPS students are directly from Basic Military Training and are also referred to as "initial entry training" or "pipeline students." NPS students are subject to the Phase Program, which is administered by my Military Training Leaders. All other students who attend DINFOS in TDY status are considered Prior Service (PS). PS students are housed in Army on-post lodging.
You will receive a one of a kind experience while at DINFOS. You will train side by side with service members from other services and countries while attending classes and you will be able to hone your skills as an Airman while at the detachment.
Again, congratulations and I look forward to your arrival and successful completion of the course.
Commander Natasha N. Porcher,Capt, USAF
