Instructional System Design Process

Curriculum development is a shared responsibility between the Directorate of Training and the DINFOS Provost. A working group consisting of academic directors and curriculum developers from the four major training departments, as well as the Advanced Distance Learning Office and Faculty Training and Development Office, has overall responsibility for all curriculum development within DINFOS.

The curriculum developers are the technical subject matter experts for the school-wide application of the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process, a systematic approach to training development for DINFOS training programs. This includes managing the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of all resident, non-resident and blended learning training. Curriculum developers work closely with academic directors to ensure that all training developed meets the requirements of the military services. For additional information on how DINFOS develops courses, please use the following link.Course Development Process

Teams from each academic department use an Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process whereby joint-service training requirements are developed into training programs for the public affairs, visual information, and maintenance career fields. This includes service-specific tracks conducted as part of a joint-service core curriculum when those tracks include predominantly knowledge-based training objectives. Resources required to support stand-alone, service-specific training requirements are the responsibility of the requiring service. For additional information regarding a specific training course, please contact the responsible department.
